At Quest Mt Maunganui, guests are entitled to make a reasonable amount of noise. However, excessive noise can be reported and addressed promptly. For your convenience there are disposable ear plugs located in the bathroom drawer.
In-House Guests:
If music, talking, or other disturbances are disruptive, please contact Reception (or the After Hours Service outside Reception hours).
The Quest team (or on-site Night Duty Manager) will first ask the guest causing the noise to reduce it.
If the noise continues, guests will be asked to leave the premises.
Street Noise / External Music:
For excessive street noise, contact Tauranga Noise Control at 03 687 1643.
This is a 24-hour service managed by a Council-contracted security company.
Council policy requires two complaints (from separate people or the same person, one hour apart) before a noise control officer is dispatched.
If the noise is too loud, an enforcement officer will issue an Excessive Noise Direction, requiring noise reduction immediately, effective for 72 hours.
If further complaints occur and noise persists, an officer accompanied by police may enter the premises to remove or make the source of noise unusable.
We appreciate your support and encourage you to contact our Quest team or Tauranga Noise Control if excessive noise affects your stay.
